What is East League?

We have 2 men’s teams and 2 women’s teams entered into the East League, a local competition where clubs from across Edinburgh and the east of Scotland compete in weekly matches throughout the year.

The league is split into two halves: October to mid-December, and January to April. Each team plays both home and away fixtures — one at Pleasance and one at the opponent’s venue.

East League is a great way to experience competitive squash in a team setting. The standard is high, leading to exciting matches, but it also has a social side, with post-match food or drinks often shared with the opposing team.

To take part, some previous match experience is important. Each fixture involves 5 players, but we also keep a list of reserves who can step in if needed. Teams are selected primarily through trials, alongside other considerations, to ensure balanced squads that match the level of their division.
